The Senior Cost Accountant will maintain all cost accounting process supported within M3 (ERP System) and ensure adequate internal controls for these processes. Will be the cost accounting expert in the department and be able to support internal stakeholders regarding process improvements for manufacturing, sourcing, quality and engineering.
 

Responsibilities/Duties

  •  Drive continual improvements in the controls, processes, and procedures followed for recording inventory transactions to the general ledger
  •  Maintain monthly inventory reconciliations between perpetual records and the general ledger.
  •  Prepare cost accounting entries in a proactive way to ensure an efficient closing process.
  •  Perform monthly COGS & Inventory reconciliations and reporting. 
  •  Tracks and analyzes monthly manufacturing variances and explains any significant variances between BOM and work orders.
  •  Analyze PPV (Purchase Price Variance). And establish good working relations with the sourcing department.
  •  Calculate provision for slow and obsolete inventory.
  •  Track R&D spending per project and perform yearly impairment testing.
  •  Perform monthly detailed cost comparisons/calculations and track PK development.
  •  Develop, set, and review labor and overhead rates for standard costing.
  •  Support factory operations through participation on teams and timely handling of ad hoc data requests
  •  Demonstrate the ability in handling and analyzing large quantities of data during month end close process within due dates.
  •  Proficient in personal computer spreadsheet applications and building database.
  •  Develops successful working relationships with other departments.
  •  Participate in a leadership capacity in projects related to the cost accounting department.

Required Skills

  •  Cost Accounting experience/Solid understanding of cost accounting principles
  •  Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles or IFRS
  •  Automated systems and PC skills particularly Microsoft Access

Required Experience

  •  Process Improvement and Process Implementation Experience
  • 5-10 years of Experience

Required Education

 Four (4) year business degree, Accounting major
